Dear parents and students,
So sorry, but do to the flooding after the heavy rains recently, I will not be able to hold office hours today. Instead I will be filling many, many snadbags. Thank you for your understanding.
A very big thank you to everyone working hard to transition to remote learning. Things are really starting to smooth-out.
Students should have, by the end of today completed the following:
Week 1 Khan Academy Video Questions - WWI Part I (was due Friday, 4/24)
Week 2 Khan Academy Video Questions - WWI Part II (was due Friday, 5/1)
Week 3 Crash Course Video Questions - The Years Between the World Wars (due today, Friday, 5/8)
Week 4 Khan Academy Video Questions - WWII Part I (due today by 3pm)
All Assignments and video links are posted on Schoology every Monday at 8am.
All assignments are in the orange folders, per respective weeks.
All assignments need to be submitted at the end of each respective week on Friday by 3pm.
All assignments from past weeks will remain posted on Schoology until the end of the year.
We will be covering the first part of WWII this week. We will do the second part next week. Check Schoology for the assignment that will be due today.
I will have live office hours twice a week for a half hour on Zoom if you have the need to ask questions, get clarification, comment, etc).
Here are the days and times:
Wednesday 12:00-12:30
Thursdays 9:00-9:30
The meetings will be a reoccurring onse; so, use the join meeting information posted on Schoology for each respective day. That information is posted on the class "Office Hours" folder. Our next one will be on Wednesday 5/20.
For those still getting started in Schoology,
It is a one-stop-shop for all sorts of online bells-and-whistles to help us learn and communicate between teachers, students, and parents. There is a useful pdf guide to help you get started on Schoology on this site, under the "Transitioning to Schoology" page at the top of this page.
There will be bumps in the road, but we are committed to the understanding that learning never stops at the classroom door, and that times like these make that especially true.
Some people will still be playing catch-up for a while. That's OK. Don't get worked-up. Reach out if you need anything - I'm here to help. But please, just keep me in the loop through email.
I still recommend checking back here this coming Monday, Wednesday, and Friday after 12 noon. It is still a good place to get common information but Schoology is the first place you should go from now on.
Again, thank you for your time, patience, and flexibility in all this.
